NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award recognizes a member who:
- is employed full-time in the field of school public education, communications and/or public relations for no more than three (3) years/36 months at the time of the nomination deadline;
- is a current and active member of Kansas School Public Relations Association (KanSPRA);
- advocates for public education in Kansas through work in their school district, the State of Kansas and/or nationally;
- is committed to a creative, dedicated and professional approach to school communications;
- demonstrates excellent personal communications skills, a commitment to being involved in KanSPRA activities, and the desire to accept chapter leadership responsibilities.
The award recipient receives a scholarship to attend the NSPRA national seminar, which includes paid registration and $500 in reimbursable conference expenses.
Nominations can be submitted by KanSPRA and non-KanSPRA members. Members can only receive this award one time. The award is presented at the annual state conference in the fall.
